I will introduce Tate’s Thesis and touch on some of its consequences. In this talk, I will explore locally compact groups, topological representations and the ring of Adeles before stating some main parts of Tate’s thesis. I will also touch on how this combines with Class Field Theory to yield the dimension one case of Artin Holomorphy.
